WIND TURBINES - OVERVIEW

Wind energy has been harnessed for many years to drive water pumps, propel sailing boats and to generate electricity. Large commercial turbines have been using control technology to monitor, steer, control and optimize performance for many years. Previously this technology has been very expensive and outside the reach of many users until recently. ReDriven have allowed the SME and domestic user to avail of this advanced wind turbine technology at affordable prices.

Several common questions are asked:

  1. Would a turbine with a tail fin to control the direction be best?
  2. What about a down-wind turbine?
  3. Why would I not put up a vertical turbine?
  4. The turbine has small blades but will it have big production?
  MCS Certification Mark

The best answer is:
If you were buying a turbine, a good rule of thumb would be to purchase a product that looked similar to a large scale commercial wind turbine. These cost at least £1.5 million in many cases so we can assume they would use the most efficient design. By choosing an alternative design you may be making a poor investment.

At Innovative Energy Solutions we have chosen to ally ourselves totally with ReDriven Power Inc of Canada because, not only have they developed a turbine with our requirements, they have developed a highly advanced controller to realise the maximum potential output of the turbine itself.

We supply a range of turbines to suit many applications along with various mast heights for the required configuration. Turbine capacities at present are 2kw, 3kw, 5kw, 10kw, 20kw and 50kw. These can cater for on-grid and off-grid applications to suit requirements. They are high performance, low noise, have a technologically advanced control system that allows remote monitoring, together with high quality components giving reliability and a long life span.
