WIND TURBINE BLADES

Our turbine blades are made of fiberglass with epoxy resin which does not attract lightning. The blade is manufactured in a layered process giving strength at root and flexibility near the tip. Each blade has undergone Non Destructive Testing (NDT) prior to dispatch and has been certified to the international standard IEC 64100-24, with a certificate issued for each each blade. A UV protective coating is applied to enhance longevity of life. The blades are long and wide, acting as an excellent sail to allow generation even at low wind speeds. At high wind speeds the turbine is steered out of the wind so that blade rotation is never greater than the maximum permitted rotational speed e.g. 240 rpm for our 5kW wind turbine.
